Aetherflow
Aetherflow is a silly little sandbox about bending water, snow and steam in a snowy seaside town. Pull a wave out of the sea and surf it, freeze the townsfolk (they will complain), melt everything with heat, blow fog bombs, and rocket up onto the rooftops on a jet of steam.
No textures, no audio files: the snow, water, sky and the sounds (even the townsfolk's gibberish) are all made live in your browser, with WebGPU.
What you need
- A computer with a recent Chrome or Edge (it needs WebGPU; Safari 26 also runs it). Phones and tablets are not supported.
- A mouse (on a trackpad, F stands in for the right button).
- Slow computer? Esc opens the menu: pick Low quality.
How to play
- Click the game to start (the sound starts with it). H shows every control at any time.
- WASD move, Shift sprint, Space jump, mouse wheel zoom.
- 1 2 3 switch element: Water, Snow, Steam. Then left click, R C V G X Z cast its spells.
- Q cold, E heat, right mouse (hold) to snow-surf, water-ski or ride a wave.
- T teleports around (town, lake, beach). Esc or O: menu (quality, sound, credits, reset world).
Credits
- Based on SNOWFLOW by Maksymilian Dendura (MIT licence), the real-time snow rendering demo this game is built on.
- Town models: Kenney (CC0).
- Babylon.js (Apache-2.0) and Vite (MIT).
- Made with Claude Code.
Still in development: feedback, bugs and silly clips are very welcome in the comments!
